Secretary Klett "Discovers" the Arts on Madeline Island

By now you know that Wisconsin Department of Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett is a champion of the arts.  She is a trumpet player and an art collector.  She takes every opportunity to speak highly about Wisconsin’s artists, arts organizations, and the work of the Wisconsin Arts Board.

Recently, while filming on Madeline Island, Stephanie sent back this short message:

“I hung out with a couple of your friends-in-art on Madeline Island and fell in love. We filmed the Bell Street Gallery and Madeline Island School of the Arts (MISA) for the Discover Wisconsin Show and for our Travel Wisconsin website videos. I met Steve and Mary McHugh and their Bell Street Gallery is one of the coolest things I have experienced in a long time. 3 galleries in one, a garden deck, an Art bar, wearable art, live music and meet-the-artist events. It was fantastic!”

“At MISA we used a drone to film the whole farmstead.  I did a segment open at MISA and a close. We filmed a class and had the professor wear a microphone for some great sound bites.”

We will let you know when the episode is scheduled to air.
