Introducing Our Two Great Summer Interns!

We are happy to introduce JP Merz and Amanda Niedfeldt, our two fabulous Summer interns.   Their internships extend through mid-August.

JP Merz is a composer from Janesville, Wisconsin.  He is currently a Junior at Lawrence University, where he is pursuing a degree in composition under the tutelage of Joanne Metcalf and Asha Srinivasan.  In addition to composing, he is particularly interested in music technology and free improvisation, and performs with an eclectic variety of bands on and off campus.  He also is interested in recording and serves as the Electronic Music Assistant and Lawrence, and is the founder of the music collective/record label, Puppyfish Records.  This summer, JP is interning for the Wisconsin Arts Board and focusing on portalwisconsin.org, the grants process, and technology-oriented projects in general.
Amanda Niedfeldt is joining us for the summer from Minneapolis, where she is pursuing her Ph.D. in English at the University of Minnesota. A native of Wisconsin, Amanda comes to us with a BA in English and a BA in History from the University of Wisconsin –Eau Claire. After spending three years teaching English abroad, Amanda is interested in learning about and supporting avenues of creative and cultural education in her home state and country. Her research and writing experience will be an asset this summer as she helps develop web content and aids us in other projects.

We’re delighted to have the opportunity to work with these two remarkable people this summer.
